We are currently seeking a Chief Administrative Officer to join our Executive Leadership team. This full-time role will be located in St. Paul, MN. This role provides strategic leadership to achieve business objectives, integrates administrative systems and teams, and leads transformational change. The CAO will partner with the CEO, the board of Directors, and the senior leadership team in crafting integrated strategies and executing enterprise initiatives to support financially sustainable advancement of the mission. They will have direct accountability for maintaining and improving administrative operations both in their vertical areas of responsibility and horizontally across the organization.

Departments and areas of functional accountability include: People and Culture, Compliance and Risk Management, Information Technology, Finance and Quality.

Job Functions:

  • Works closely with the Entira Family Clinics’ Board and leadership to drive strategic direction, initiatives, and objectives and advance Entira Family Clinics’ mission, vision, and strategic development.
  • Develops and communicates clear and measurable goals that support strategic objectives, effectively communicates those goals to staff, and achieves those goals.
  • This position will work in a dyad relationship with the physician CEO.
  • Oversight and management of risk and compliance activities including policies and procedures processes to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiate and monitor contracts to ensure timely renewal, inclusion of required language and to ensure appropriate standards are met.
  • As required, provide reporting to Board of Directors on compliance and risk management activities.
  • Manage other senior leaders to ensure achievement of high performance and meeting organizational objectives in the areas of:
    • Financial performance
    • Staff engagement and experience
    • Operations efficiencies
    • Quality and outcomes
    • Compliance
    • Information Technology (IT)
  • Initiates and maintains communications with external entities including program collaborators, other health care providers and community partners.
  • Manage relationships with external partners (ex: FPA, Agilon Health, etc.).
  • Manage real estate activities for organization.


  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred in Health Administration, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Healthcare or related field.
  • 5-10 years of senior level leadership experience in a clinical health care organization, preferably in an independent physician-owned multi-clinic enterprise.
  • 7 years of progressively responsible leadership positions in health care field.
  • 5 years of administration experience in healthcare setting.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of trends and changes taking place in health care and the implications of those changes.
  • Record of forming, implementing, and executing strategic plan for an organization focused on growth.
  • Problem-solver who involves others in key decisions but assures timely decisions.
  • Ability to educate others about the process of change and the necessity of change.
  • Ability to establish relationships with diverse groups, strong communication, and good listening skills.
  • Ability to articulate and demonstrate the Mission, Vision, and Strategy to employees, physicians, and other providers and groups.
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Ability to focus on and energize a group in pursuit of present and future goals.
