We are currently seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to join our Coding team. This full-time role is located on-site in St. Paul, MN. This role is required to analyze health record documentation to assign and/or ensure that valid codes are applied to medical diagnoses and procedures to facilitate appropriate reimbursement, and to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.  Coding Specialist will need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively.

The qualified candidate will have a Medical Coding Diploma or Certification. Two years’ experience in a Family Practice setting preferred.  Qualified candidates need to be familiar with the rules and regulations of all third-party payers including Medicare and Government plans.  Must be able to effectively use resources and technology, have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze health record documentation in order to assign and / or ensure that valid codes are applied to medical diagnoses and procedures to facilitate appropriate reimbursement, and to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Meet required deadline requirements.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with providers, clinic staff and team members.
  • Participation with patient and family centered principles that are aligned with Health Care Home standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires Medical Coding Diploma or Certification.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Ability to lift to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
