Hydration is everything when it comes to energy, focus, and stamina — especially in the summer heat!
Here’s how to hydrate smarter:
1. Drink Half Your Body Weight in Ounces
Aim for half your body weight in ounces of water daily.
- 160 lbs = 80 oz water.
- In the sun? Add an extra 8 oz for every hour outside.
2. Don’t Just Drink Water — Add Electrolytes
Water alone isn’t enough. Electrolytes (like sodium, potassium, magnesium) help your body hold onto hydration.
- Good options: Propel, Gatorade Zero, or Unwell is my new favorite (green coffee extract + electrolytes, low sugar).
- Look for drinks that hydrate without spiking blood sugar.
3. Be Mindful — Adjust, Don’t Eliminate
- Love coffee? Great! Just add extra water to balance it.
- Prefer energy drinks? Choose ones with added electrolytes and lower sugar.
Hydration is about awareness, not restriction.
4. Set Yourself Up for Success
- Set out your water bottles in the morning.
- Use a tracker bottle with goals and encouragement.
- Try an app like Yuka to track your hydration.
5. Listen to Your Body
Feeling tired, dizzy, lightheaded, or low on stamina? You’re likely dehydrated. Don’t wait to feel thirsty — stay ahead of it.
Hydration is one of the simplest ways to boost how you feel, every day!
