Entira Family Clinics is looking for a highly motivated, friendly, compassionate Director of Information Technology looking to be part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional quality care to our patients.

The expected annualized base pay range for this position will be from $145,000 – $180,000, plus core and optional employee benefits. Entira Family Clinics considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

JOB SUMMARY: 

This position will be responsible for leading the organization’s Information Technology function and building and managing the infrastructure, architecture, security, healthcare technologies, data, and systems delivery. This role is pivotal in supporting our mission by providing insights that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, as well as build and maintain relationships with executives and clinic leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs as it relates IT. Ensure cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs and respond with agility to changing business priorities.
  • Define and execute on Entira’s vision for its IT function, as well as cybersecurity awareness and delivery.
  • Create synergies across the organization to enable innovative shared solutions; develop and control the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for IT to ensure it is consistent with the organization’s overall strategic objectives and plan. Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective financial investment in IT solutions, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and development.
  • Integrate the IT and business strategy to achieve company goals by fostering innovation, properly organizing teams, and directing the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technology solutions across the organization.
  • Assess and communicate risks associated with IT investments and develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Implement enterprise-wide security, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Establish and document effective and updated IT policies & procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and operational excellence.
  • Forge strong service-oriented teams and engage the team through enthusiasm and excitement about the business.
  • Manage and deliver all aspects of the EMR/Practice Management software.
  • Manage creation, implementation and maintenance of interfaces.
  • Serve as primary IT contact for HIPAA activities and EMR logs when breach concerns are reported.
  • Oversee eClinicalWorks provider licensing.
  • Oversee of all Entira Family Clinics’ website activities including; new projects, change requests, security, routine updates and intranet site. 
  • Research, develop and implement new computer hardware and software solutions for the organization.
  • Responsible for managing software modifications and development within agreed upon priorities. 
  • Manage EMR/Practice Management implementation projects.
  • Interact with the Business Operations, Clinical Practice, Business Office and clinical staff and physicians to document software fixes and enhancements and make requests to the vendor.
  • Provide leadership and coordinate Clinical Content Committee, IT Committee, Meaningful Use Workgroup and other meetings as assigned.  
  • Initial negotiation of services level agreements prior to final review by Chief Operating Officer.
  • Manage vendor relationships according to contract terms and conditions, and responds to terms and conditions not being met.
  • Responsible for managing the delivery if IS services to the clinics and their personnel.  This includes managing the staff and addressing their needs and priorities.  This also includes managing the outsourced IT resources we employ.
  • Responsible for addressing training needs whether it is on a one-to-one basis or securing resources for group training.  This includes documenting and training on all upgrades and software.
  • During and after the rollout, responsible for supporting the physician’s use of the electronic medical record, the appropriate deployment teams and the business office and clinical staff maintenance teams by providing system software support.
  • Work with staff, and vendors or appropriate resources to develop effective documentation for the end user
  • Implement any new software and hardware as determined.
  • Manage projects through the entire life cycle: Initiation, Planning, Execution and Closure.
  • Works closely with business customers to define project scope and requirements. 
  • Write RFI / RFP and Project Charter documentation as the project scope and size of the project requires.
  • Prepare and administer annual department and projects budget.  Work with IT Committee in development of budget, in addition to Tactical Team and the Finance Committee.
  • Develops, proposes and manages project budgets.
  • Oversee IS Department
  • Maintain confidentiality in oral, written and electronic based information.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience leading high-performing IT teams with substantial hands-on experience in IT systems, infrastructure, architecture, and cybersecurity.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, as well as keen attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with rapidly changing technologies and environments; continually seeking improvement and innovative solutions. Ability to change tactics quickly to maximize return and ensure value.
  • Advanced presentation skills; ability to present complex ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language, as well as manage conflicting priorities and influence others at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills to make data-driven decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel from physicians, vendors, internal staff and management.  The ability to plan, organize and lead the technical aspects of IT/Software projects to successful conclusions.
  • Experience troubleshooting software application issues.
  • Training or equivalent experience in project or team leadership roles.  Able to communicate effectively in a software rollout mode.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security. 
  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • Good medical terminology knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
