What we eat plays a big role in how we live. Food gives our bodies and minds the energy to think clearly and get things done each day. Our diet impacts everything—from how we feel and sleep to how we move, look, and think. Because it affects so many parts of our lives, it’s important to work with a dietitian to create a plan that supports your overall health.

What is MNT?
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) is a therapeutic approach to treating medical conditions and their symptoms through the use of diet and a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to help treat medical conditions. It involves a comprehensive assessment, nutritional diagnosis, and treatment plan.
MNT is different from nutrition education, which provides basic nutrition information to the general public and isn’t intended to treat medical conditions. Instead, MNT instructs individuals on how to use their diet to best support their medical conditions. It not only addresses existing medical conditions, but also attempts to lower the risk of new complications.
Appointments available:
- In person at East Side, Hugo and West St. Paul clinics.
- Televisit
MNT is only provided by a qualified dietitian and a physician referral is required for treatment. If you would like to meet with a dietitian, ask your provider or call 651.788.4444 to see if you qualify for a referral.
MNT is covered by many insurance plans. Check with your insurance provider or employer to see if MNT at Entira Family Clinics is covered. Private pay is also accepted.
